Community rules
Posting is not open yet. The posts and discussion prompts on ArboNation are samples. These rules apply when posting opens, and they already apply to job posts, listings and sponsor adverts sent in by email.
Last updated October 9, 2026.
These rules have four parts: what can be posted, what a post must leave out, how posts are moderated, and how to report a post or a page. The privacy terms are on the privacy notice page. We are the operator of the site, and "we" below means the operator.
Posting rules
- Keep words civil. Disagree with the point, not the person.
- No harassment, threats or hate.
- No personal information about other people: no names, phone numbers, addresses, plates or photos of people who did not agree to be posted.
- No victims named and no photos of injured people.
- No maker or brand names in posts or listings: describe the item by what it is. An advert names only its own sponsor.
- No selling outside the buy and sell area and the paid sponsor spots. Sponsor adverts are always labelled "Sponsored".
No-advice rule
Members share what they do, and what a code, a maker or a regulator says, with a link to the source where there is one. A post does not:
- give legal, tax, insurance or medical advice;
- tell others how to climb, rig or fell as the right way to do it.
A post about an injury or a close call describes what happened without naming anyone: not the person hurt, not the crew and not the firm.
Moderation
We moderate the site. A post that breaks a rule is removed. We edit a post only to take out personal information, and then leave the rest as written. Repeated breaches end the poster's posting rights. Whenever we remove or edit a post, we write to the poster with the reason.
Reporting a post or a page
Until posting opens, report a post, a listing, an advert or any page by writing to the contact address at the foot of this page. Send the page address and say what is wrong. We aim to reply within two working days.
To correct or remove an entry, write to the address at the foot of this page.
Anyone can ask us to look again at a decision by replying to the message that told them about it.

The discussion prompts on the community page are written by the site as samples. They show no real members, replies or dates.
