Public land firewood permits: Forest Service, BLM, Canadian provinces and UK and Irish forestry bodies

How official pages describe personal-use firewood permits on public land in the United States, Canada, Scotland, Wales and Ireland: who issues them, what they cost in each page's own currency, and what limits they set.

Checked against the sources at the bottom of this page on October 8, 2026. Rules, fees and pay change: the source has the last word.

This page reports what the official source says. It is not legal advice: ask the office named here. It sets out how public land managers describe personal-use firewood permits. Where a page prints a dollar sign, this page shows it as US$ for a United States agency and CA$ for a Canadian one. Where a row says no official page was found, that is the result of a search on October 8, 2026.
