This page describes a public dataset as its portal publishes it. It reports the portal's own description, column list, record counts and licence field as read on October 9, 2026. It does not interpret the numbers. The family overview is on the guide to city open tree data. The diversity targets that cities set for street trees are on the street tree diversity guide.
What the dataset is
The dataset is titled Street Tree and is published by the City of San José. Its description says it gives the locations of all street trees in the City, defined as trees along City right-of-way and sidewalk, and that it does not include trees on private property or large lots such as parks. The description also says the adjacent property owner is responsible for caring for a street tree, that permits must be obtained for most work on street trees, and that the City alone maintains some trees in its medians and road backups. It states that data is published on Mondays on a weekly basis.
