Florida Tree Climbing Championship: organiser, place, climber limits and fees

The Florida state championship run by the Florida Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture: the 2027 place and dates, the 45-climber limit and how it is split, and the fees as the chapter prints them.

Checked against the sources at the bottom of this page on October 9, 2026. Rules, fees and pay change: the source has the last word.

This page reports what the Florida Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) says on its championship page, its sponsor and exhibitor page and its event calendar. The national and regional events are in the table of championships.

Where and when

The chapter's championship page puts the 2027 event at Goodwood Museum and Gardens, 1600 Miccosukee Road, Tallahassee, on March 5 to 7, 2027. The chapter's own event calendar lists the championship on Saturday, March 6, 2027, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at the same address.

The page gives the days in outline. Friday holds an Outdoor Tree School and an afternoon gear check, Saturday holds the preliminaries and Sunday holds the Master's Challenge. The sponsor page adds that the awards dinner is on the Saturday.

Climber limits and the waiting list

The page says registration was closed on October 9, 2026 and re-opens in January 2027. It lists these limits.

  • Per company. Up to 4 registrations from one company, and up to 2 from any one regional office of a nation-wide company.
  • Out of state. Up to 4 climbers from outside Florida.
  • Waiting list. When all 45 places are taken, the page says to call the chapter office to be put on the list.
  • Cancellations. Substitutions are accepted up to 10 days before the event. After that the place is filled from the waiting list.
