Rocky Mountain Chapter Tree Climbing Competition: organiser, place, schedule, member rule and Pollinator Fair

The tree climbing competition of the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA), covering Colorado, Montana, New Mexico and Wyoming: the June 2026 place and schedule, the rule that climbers live in the chapter area and hold two memberships, the 45-climber roster, what the winner earns, and the free fair held beside it.

Checked against the sources at the bottom of this page on October 9, 2026. Rules, fees and pay change: the source has the last word.

This page reports what the Rocky Mountain Chapter ISA says on its event page, its climber roster page and its fair flyer. The national and regional events are in the table of championships. The chapter links its final scores as a spreadsheet, and this page names no climber because the roster and scores are on the chapter's own site.

Where and when

The chapter's 2026 competition was held at Pioneer Park, 301 Parkhill Drive, Billings, Montana. The event page lists the dates as June 18, 2026 from 7:00 AM to June 21, 2026 until 6:30 PM. June 18 was for volunteers only, with set-up and volunteer check-in, and the Sunday, June 21 slot is marked as held for weather delays.

Who may climb

The event page says competing climbers must live within the chapter boundaries for more than seven months of the year, and must hold membership of both ISA and the Rocky Mountain Chapter. It says climbers compete to qualify for the Masters' Challenge, for the chapter title, a prize package and registration for the North American Tree Climbing Championship and the International Tree Climbing Championship. It says the competition accommodated 45 climbers, and the roster page, dated June 11, 2026, lists 45 numbered places. Volunteers are promised an event t-shirt, meals and continuing education units.
