Victorian Tree Climbing Championships: organiser, qualifying event, entry route and booking pages
The Victorian state championship run by the Victorian Tree Industry Organisation: the two-step route from the qualifying event to the final, the 2026 venues and dates, and what the booking pages say about who may enter.

This page reports what the Victorian Tree Industry Organisation (VTIO) says on its events pages and its two booking pages. The national event and the other state events are in the table of championships, and the national championship has its own page.
Who runs it and the two events
VTIO runs two linked events each season, and its May 14, 2026 notice says nominations and bookings for both were open. The first is the Victorian Tree Climbing Championship Qualifying Event, called the VTCCQE. The second is the Victorian Tree Climbing Championships, called the VTCC, held after it.
- VTCCQE. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Geelong Botanic Gardens, Eastern Park Circuit, East Geelong. The booking page lists the day as 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM and describes it as open to climbers of all experience levels, with a welcoming atmosphere for first-time competitors. VTIO calls it the pathway into the championships, aimed at competitors with little or no competition experience, where climbers are judged, mentored and encouraged by some of the best climbers in Victoria.
- VTCC. Saturday, November 7, and Sunday, November 8, 2026, at Apex Park, 14 Clements St, Wangaratta. The booking page lists 7:00 AM on the Saturday to 6:00 PM on the Sunday, and says competitors tackle a range of events over the two days.
How a climber enters
VTIO's page sets out two routes into the final. A climber can apply for direct entry through the booking link. VTIO says competitors are selected on the overall standard of all applications, and the application asks about previous climbing competition experience and past results. If a direct entry application is unsuccessful, VTIO says the climber is automatically offered a place in the qualifying event.
The VTCC booking page adds that the VTIO Committee reserves the right to require any competitor to take part in a qualification event first, at its discretion, based on experience, qualifications and event requirements. VTIO also says that competitors accepted for direct entry are expected to volunteer and help with judging at the qualifying event as part of their entry. All applications for both events were due by August 14, 2026, for sorting and approval. Both booking pages showed bookings as closed on October 9, 2026.
Watching and results
The VTCC booking page invites the public to watch and cheer on the competitors over the two days. This page found no results page for the Victorian championships on the VTIO site on October 9, 2026, so no results link is given: the VTIO events page is the organiser's own index of events.
Entry fees are not listed on either of the booking pages as read, so none are given here.
