WA State Tree Climbing Championships: organiser, place, events, gear check and sponsor terms
The Western Australian state championship run by ArbWest: the November 13 to 14, 2026 dates at Perth Hills Discovery Centre, the five climbing events its sponsor brochure lists, the gear check paperwork, and the exhibitor and prize terms the organiser prints.

This page reports what ArbWest, the Arboricultural Association of Western Australia, says on its championship page and in the documents linked from it. It names no winners. The other state, national and world events are in the table of championships.
Where and when
The ArbWest page gives the WA State Tree Climbing Championships 2026 for November 13 and 14, 2026, at the Perth Hills Discovery Centre. It links a registration form, a gear check form, gear check instructions, the ISA 2026 rule book and a sponsorship document. The text of the page and of the documents read prints no climber entry fee.
The sponsorship brochure calls the contest elite sport in the treetops, two days for Western Australia's best climbers. It gives the following figures for the event each year: 300 to 500 visitors, more than 75 climbers and volunteers, and an industry reach of more than 2,000 across arboriculture and local government. It says the top climbers qualify for the Nationals, which it says are coming to Perth in 2027, and that the very best go on to the World Championships. The Australian national event is on the page about the Australian Tree Climbing Championships.
The five climbing events
The brochure lists five climbing events that a business can sponsor: Aerial Rescue, Speed Climb, Ascent Event, Throwline and Work Climb. The ArbWest page links the ISA rule book valid from October 1, 2026. That rule book's contents list the Work Climb as worth 80 possible points, the Aerial Rescue 50, the Throwline 35 and the Belayed Speed Climb 10. The rule book is the ISA's: the ArbWest documents do not say which of its rules ArbWest changes for the state event.
Gear check
ArbWest's gear check instructions say gear check is meant to make sure the fall protection and other protective gear used at the contest meets industry standards and is fit for the purpose. They say nobody operates at height until the gear is listed on the form, assessed by a designated competent person described as a Trade Certified Arborist, and passed for use. They say that if too little information is available the default decision is to reject the gear, and that a climber then has to present other gear to compete. The form has three parts: systems, assemblies and components. It asks for the gear expected to be needed for the event only. The document says systems are to be assembled the way the climber intends to use them when submitted.
Sponsor, exhibitor and prize terms as printed
The brochure prints a price for each sponsor package. This site does not repeat sponsor prices.

| Championship Sponsor | Logo on advertising, mention on every championship social media post, a chance to be interviewed by the event MC, and a free stall or machinery display space. |

| Prize partners | For the Masters podium, the partner gives gear or vouchers worth AU$2,500, and the brochure lists first prize AU$1,250, second AU$750 and third AU$500. For each of the five events the partner gives AU$1,000 of donations, with prizes of AU$500, AU$300 and AU$200. Three special awards (Volunteer, Best Effort or Competitor, Best Up-and-Coming Climber) are AU$200 each from a AU$600 package. |
The brochure prints these figures with a dollar sign, and adds the words plus GST to the stall prices. The AU$ here is our reading of an Australian association's brochure.
