Chipper, log splitter and pole saw recalls: the official registers

Recalls and safety notices for chippers, chipper shredders, log splitters and pole saws from the CPSC, Health Canada and the UK product safety list, newest first.

Checked against the sources at the bottom of this page on October 8, 2026. Rules, fees and pay change: the source has the last word.

This page lists recalls and safety notices for wood chippers and chipper shredders, log splitters and pole saws or pole pruners, from the registers of the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, read on October 8, 2026. Maker and product names appear because the notices name them. The page ranks nothing. The notice linked in each row is the record. Most of these notices cover machines sold to homeowners and small landscapers, because the registers read here are consumer product registers. Searches for stump grinders, aerial lifts and bucket trucks returned nothing in the US and UK registers on that date, so those machines have no rows.

United States

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) publishes recalls through a public web service. Searches of the recall titles for chipper, wood chipper, shredder, log splitter, splitter, pole saw, pole pruner, stump grinder, aerial lift, bucket truck and mulcher returned the records below that concern those machines, dated 2010 and later. Blower and vacuum combinations that mulch are left out. The hazard is the one in the notice title, and the remedy is the remedy type the record lists.

Canada

Health Canada releases its Recalls and Safety Alerts as an open dataset under the Open Government Licence, Canada. The table lists dataset records from 2018 on that name the same machines. The dataset gives one date, the date a record was last updated, and that is the date shown. Where the dataset holds no instruction text, the cell says so.

Registers not read

The EU Safety Gate, the Australian recalls site and the New Zealand product safety site have no rows here. The Australian site refused the request for its copyright page, the New Zealand site had no copyright page at the address tried, and the EU site showed no reuse terms for its alert list, so no rows were built from them. For what regulators say about the machines in service, see the guide on chippers and stump grinders, and for saws, the list of chainsaw recalls and safety notices.

To correct or remove an entry, write to the address at the foot of this page.
